Disturbed is By far the "sound" of how feelings should be delt with. My favorite song from their alblum is #7 which is titled numb. YOU CREATED A RIFT WITHIN ME, NOW THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL COMPLICATIONS.... awesom song. I love the part about the rift because I feel that there is a rift within us all. Just some of us have a more violent spiral to our rifts. Others rifts are just dormant.

But anyway I'm rambling. GEt the WHOLE FRICKEN CD. and there's another song out by them called God of the Mind. Also an awesome song. Makes you wanna kill a people. Timbo, which is Austins' entrance theme is alright, but everything else they have is better.

Then you think of words that rhyme (just like my fitfth grader can do)and there you have rap music. How many rap artist can actually PLAY music rather than have some machine do it?? The fact that they have some machine make their music makes it even stranger why they have all the same beat. You may hate rock n roll but my fifth grader can't play metal guitar...she COULD hit buttons on a machine then think of words that rhyme tho.

In metal/alternative, whatever, they use the same instruments (drums, bass guitar, electric guitar etc.) in most if not all the songs.

What keeps it from sounding the same?

Obviously by using different chords, different sized snare drum, different lyrics.

To be a rap star you get a beat machine, hit a few buttons and there you have your "music".

The instruments of a "rap star" are a sampler, maybe a synth and a sequencer. A lot of ppl disagree with these being instruments because it's "New". . . and a lot of ppl are scared of change in the sense that what was once "the norm" isn't.

The sampler is where you create all your sounds. . . and its MUCH MORE than just SAMPLING something and I don't really feel like describing in intricate detail all of the techniques of what goes on.

You are probably thinking where's the SKILL involved. . .

It's all about having an ear for music and what sounds good (your audience is VERY critical), and being able to be innovative with the equipment you have, mastering skills etc.

Then you think of words that rhyme (just like my fitfth grader can do)and there you have rap music.

I don't pigeon-hole myself into one specific genre; there's just too much GOOD MUSIC out there.

If what you say is true, why can't you go out and make a rap beat by pressing buttons and sell it to an un-suspecting emcee?

Its just that when I hear rap i hear a beat, and the always the same exact beat. Maybe I've been listening to too much Megadeth.............lol. Also playing a guitar is rather tough, trust me my last GF tried like hell to teach me. Also the little I've seen of rap on MTV when channel surfing is VERY anti-white and racist. The whites are always buffoons in those videos. I'm white why would I listen to music that insults me???

Country sux donkey balls but they have a lot of good guitarists, Ill give them that. Quite simply put, for me anyways, I only like bands that have good guitar players and awesome rifts. Guitar along with a good drummer and singer makes a good band, if the basist is good, all the better. If you don't have a guitarist, drummer, basist, I will not like you
