my hairy arm Pitt haven non t v watch-en home school-en sister does and she looks like hell.dont smell that good either.
and i don't know how she can afford to

I try to for sure... where I am now doesn't have a Whole Foods grocery store so it's a little difficult... so I do when I can.

My reason is that there are chemicals in everything nowadays. So I try to eat as close to the ground as I can, if you know what I mean... On the other hand, I try not to obbsesse (sp?!) about it too much... it's all about balance.

I also get less prone to becoming sick. Here in miami i have a lot of organic grocery stores, or orgranic farm markets.

That's quite a leap in logic there...

Yeah, I don't believe there are really any tangible benefits to justify the cost. But I can't deny that organic bananas taste better than ordinary ones.

Well, organic foods have less chemicals in them, the chemicals in regular food markets that are listed on your food labels as "natural spices" do fuck you up and make you sick.

What? You don't know about the trilateral axis of evil between FDA, pharmeucital industry, and FTC?

Yeah I think saying eating all organic is totally what's making you not get sick is a big stretch. I don't eat organic foods, but ever since I changed to eating natural foods i.e. no canned, processed and precooked stuff, i haven't been sick. In fact it's been about 2.5 years since i've been sick and that's when i changed my eating habits. i used to eat nothing but crap and was quite often.

Pick your posion, either die from the pesticides, or from the creatures that the pesticides are meant to kill! LOL...

Seriously though, I love organic when I grow it or a friend of mine does. It is probably not really feasible for large growers to do when their entire business depends on the crop being intact. As much as I hate "chemicals/pesticides", I do understand why they are used.

As far as the nutrition issue, their is no evidence that organically grown is any more nutritious. Growers will of course have you believe so, but this cannot be backed up by any study to date.

Okay, don't they say that vegetables that are grown in lab enviroments for mass production, lets say, corn, are hybridized, so therefore, the GI is raised, and the fiber is removed to enlarge the vegetable/fruit.

I haven't been to the doctors in 4 years btw.

Organic or as close to as reasonable ... I'd say more than 75%.

I have chemical issues, in fruits and veggies I genuinely DO react to pesticides and chemical fertilizers, and it's not stuff you can wash off. Plus, the concepts of genetically modified and irradiation just seem VERY wrong to me and organic is the only hedge against that.

I can't handle conventional meats or eggs, the last time I had conventionally raised beef I had shooting pains in my stomach for 12 hours afterward.

Finally, my husband and I both think organic, especially fruits and milk, taste better. Since there's really only the two of us the $$$ isn't a big deal. You choose how you spend your money, we don't go out much.

Hardly eat any organic food however if I buy any wheat products like bread I tend to go with something labled organic cause it has the least ingredients. For that matter any packaged food I buy I check the ingredients listing and tend to go with the products that have the least "stuff" in it.

Ahhh, words to live by! Read labels, if it takes more than a minute or so, put it back on the shelf!

Breads for instance, I wonder how many folks know that by law is perfectly legal to proclaim in bold on the bread "whole wheat", as long as 8% of the entire batch of bread made is 100% whole wheat. Pretty sneaky...pick up the loaf, if the first ingredient says "enriched", put it down. :mix:

Or that legally, companies can put harmful chemicals in their products and put it off as "natural flavor" or "other spices" in their label.

Great way of putting that. And, no I don't think most of the public knows about this.

Should i post about it? I mean i got lots of books that talks about these scammers. Food that makes you sick, go to doctor, doctor sponsored by drug companies, doctor just prescribes drugs to suppress your symptons so that only later you get sick with something else, eat more from super market, food makes you sick, go back, get more drugs, etc.... :)

And what doesnt make you sick or cause cancer these days? Everything does.

organic foods, by nature of their need for increased care, oversight and pampering... not to mention a health portion of natural selection at work, produce more intensely flavored foods.. scientific? nahhhh... i just think they taste better, and i like the sustainablity without so much pesticide use..

are they comercially viable in terms of supporting an entire industry and making foods available at an affordable level to the populace.. .um.. no..

Shit, i cant afford all 'ganics, can you?

Maybe if you live on your own farm it's possible, otherwise it's not. First, you cant get everything organic and second, you'll have to be rich to buy the shit and eat it asap or it will go bad.
