Who has used b-12 sub q?

When you inject b-12 sub q say in the stomach do you inject an entire cc at once?
I would imagine it would be a large volume...

Why not just do it IM?

B-12 can be given sq with slin pins. Pinch a fold on your side abdomen and inject. Using a slin pin, you might have to go with 1/2 cc each dosage.

ive done 1cc at a time with no problem, I got a small lump that massaged away in 5 mins once I dispersed the b12

I'm too lazy to make my own b12, plus, i've already got some here that I had ordered. So I'm ready to go but just need confirmation on the IM question with the slin pins. I'm about 90% sure that you can IM inject with those slin pins. And besides, I don't even know how to SQ inject. I know it sounds easy, but what if I pinch the skin and then the inject goes more into the fat/skin on the other side of my pinch instead of subQ? This is a shame, I can stick my self with a 23g 1.5" pin filled with thick Primo, but i'm scratching my head on how to inject B12. Off to the search feature to find out more.

just a couple words on these injections. an SQ injection means subcutaneous. that means you want it in the subcutaneous area, in an area of your body that has a layer of fat between the skin and muscle. unless you are very lean, you will find these areas on the back of your upper arm, your abdomen, and on your ass. always try to make your next injection at least an inch and a half away from the last. don't go into the same area.

29g needles are awful small but as a rule, if what you want to give is thin enuf to be pushed through it, then go with it. i prefer to use 23 and 25g needles for the shots i give. small enough to be very well tolerated and with enough bore size for the meds to get through.

babbabuee, when you pinch up the skin, inject down, not from side to side, but down at a 45-90 angle into the skin you pinched up, that way there is zero chance of getting it into the skin on the other side. i don't know much about gear but after 14 yrs of nursing i know shots.

thanks for the info tag. I think I'm going to stick to IM. it even says on the bottle, IM or SQ. Plus the way I was figuring it in my head was that if the 1/2" pin doesn't go deep enough IM, then it would just kind of become a SQ by default. Anyway, the IM was easy enough and I'll probably stick to that, but it's good to have those directions on proper SQ injects.
