Who Ever Said Getting Older Was Great Was NUTS!!
You hear people all the time saying I really didn't start living until I hit my 40s, 50s or whatever bs. What a load of crap. Getting older sux. It is depressing. You see more of your friends and family pass on and you really start to question this thing we call life. Your kids move away and that is sad. Your body and your spouses body start to sag or get wrinkly what could be great about that?
You learn that the world is getting crazier and the absolutes you use to hold dear are not so absolute anymore. You worry about finances more when you are old because you know this delapedated(sp) body is going to have a harder time making money that a younger body is and you know your kids are going to need extra money when they screw up.
You also look back on all your mistakes and get depressed. You think how could I have done that or said that to that person I love and on and on. Then if you are a Christian you are excited about getting a new body and being with God in Heaven, but at the same time you are scared about what God is going say about how you lived the life He gave you. Nothing like disappointing your father.
I know this is a depressing thread. But do ya'll agree that whoever said that was just trying to cheer themselves up for being old. Btw I am in my late 30's but I can already sense all this stuff coming on.
