They are better off now (as a whole, in every way) than before Bush was President? So, since Bush has been president, are you better off, as a whole?

Discuss.....

I liked the 600 bucks i got couple years ago, or whenever.....

i dont see Kerry doing that good stuff to us poor white trash:)

I'm better off as a whole. I got into my bodybuilding, got alot of therapy for what happened to me as a child. I got back in school.

- Bodybuilding, as has more laws passed to make it more difficult by Bush.
- I don't see any laws being passed to protect male victoms of sexual assault by the Bush administration, so he has not helped me with any of the issues from my childhoo.
-Wow, school is more expensive than ever.

Overall then, I am better as a whole in spite of the Bush administration, rather than because of it.

i'm probably better off now than i was before, but none of it has anything to do with Bush.

OK, but since he has been in office, are you better off financially? Safety-wise? Economically? Etc??

well, my job situation (or lack thereof) has nothing to do with Bush or his administration.

my own personal income has nothing to do with Bush, cept for maybe the fact that the GI Bill monthly allotment was set to raise by almost $100/mo right after i started school. i dunno who makes those decisions, but it happened during Bush's administration. of course, it has gone up considerably in the past few years to adjust with the cost of living too, but it didn't go up at all for this year...maybe that has something to do with Bush....

the job market blows, at least around us. she can't find a decent job. was the Bush administration responsible for the shitty job market? honestly, tell me, cause i don't normally pay attention to this shit. i know we could be doing a lot better if she could find a good solid job to use her education, but we're doing ok as of right now.

i know this is going to turn into a "who are you voting for" thread. so....

i sent in my info to register to vote for the first time yesterday. i kicked myself in the ass that i havn't voted before.

Flipper has lost my vote because, well, he's done nothing but flip-flop on issues.

Bush has lost my vote soley because of ASScroft. he still might get it though.

who's on the independant platform and what's their stance on war, gun control, and porn?

Well, this is an issue (are you better off?) my hubby brought up & he wanted to see what other people thought.....

He is of the mind that if you or anyone can honestly say that you are better off now, since Bush has been in office, than why is that? And if you truly feel that way, then vote for Bush......

I, personally, don't & never have, liked Bush Sr/Jr's stance on women, so he was never my option anyway....

i think your husband could be wrong on this one. things happen in many people's lives that are unrelated to the way government is being run. at least that's my opinion.

That is true, it could have nothing to do with Bush (layoffs, losses in 401Ks, more $$$ health copays & scrips, etc etc).....

but I was curious what others had to say, which is why I posted it.....

what i'm saying is that you could be tapping into a biased sample here, which will yeild you results unrepresentative of the population as a whole.

about 40% of this board regularly works out, and another 30% probably does so every so often (i'm being generous for the sake of arguement ;) ). so you must figure that 70% of this board has the desire to improve things in their life, and a desire to improve one area of your life can spill over into another area. so someone very dedicated to making themselves better physically might be more apt to do whatever they must do in order to continue to better themselves economically. someone who is motivated to do so can overcome odds. maybe not as fast as possible if we're in slow economic times, but they can still make headway.

that's just my basis for saying that some advances in many people's lives have nothing to do with the way the government is being run...or at least that's my opinion.
