Which is better - The Shield or 24?

Never sat down and watched either properley, however I want to get one/both on dvd so which is best? I have heard so many good things about 24.....

I have watched "the shield" and it is an awesome show....never watched 24 tho
the shield holds nothing back when it comes to drama

Ahh i am hooked on 24. ONce i start watching it i can't stop till theres nothing left.
I got the 1st season burnt to dvd and starting on second soon!

24 is extremely adddictive, I just finished all the way to season 4 and I can't wait to see the new shows. It's got crazy plots.

The story line in 24 just gets dragged out way too long IMO....and Jack never gets to eat!! LOL

The Shield has it all......
