I like the crust.. but damn is it unhealthy.

definitely the filling. i hate crusty's on my pie.

The filling definitely, but the crust is a good contrast of taste, which is what makes pie so damn good.

I prefer cakes and brownies myself. Pie is like a cake wanna-be. It's definitely inferior to the cake.
totally different IMO

life is a salad of the divine and the sublime, my friend.

I long to fill my flesh with soul, i long to fill my soul with with flesh, i will through the mysteries of which the future is woven reconcile at last within me these two eternal antagonists...

Both. of course. I would forgo both if forced to chose as I am my destiny. Choose? keep yer damn pie, you make lousy crust anyway...

:lmao:

A warm filling with some french vanilla ice cream ;)

Will likely regret the ice cream a few hours later, but its worth it.

Filling...no question..dutch apple....

ahhhhh.. now brotha my brotha.. do comtemplate with me, just for a moment...

A deep dark walnut panneled house in the berkshires with cordovan leather tile underfoot, a big almost obsidian Mission table laden with naught but glasses of port, a Warres '63, actually.

Wide, thick sided shallow coffee mugs with a Dutch Apple Brown Betty just getting cool enought to eat.. the dark rich crumble topping has only enough flour to hold together the butter, pecans and cane sugar...

The little specks of candied ginger and roasted sour cherries just peak out of the big, fat, slathered granny smiths so brown and bubbly in their bourbon-cinnamon glaze, and your best friends return to the table giggling over that bottle of BasArmagnac they FINALLY found

Your lady flashes you a knowing smile, returning from turning the Van Morrison down just a little as she brings the bowl of whipped creme fraiche to the table and a handful of big weathered spoons, their luster only magnified by the patina of years of dinners well spent, friends sated or renewed, of souls warmed by the gift of table and hearth and heart...

You look around, feeling the glow of the fireplace on one cheek, and smile, as this is what it is all about....

Wont argue that... but for this one savage dining room table i saw that looked to be, from that kind of super spotty grain? kinda like kokabolo? but i am pretty sure thats not possible... it was really beautiful and the grain caught and distributed the candle light like Tigers Eye if you caught the angle .

My brother says, and he knows my TOTAL lack of knowlege of fine woods, that it might have been a rosewood veneer... i am pretty damn naive about all that jazz...

Oh, and thank you, dB, i haven't been called 'Bah' in AGES... how did you know?
