When you all diet......

Abs are a muscle like any other in the body, and should be trained as such. Doing 300 squats every day on a diet would not yield more fat loss in the gluteal-femoral region. Sticking feathers up your ass does not make you a chicken.
 
I agree with them...Work your abs like any other muscle group...Slow and steady with hard contractions...Only crunch the abs, don't do full sit ups...

Do you have any scientifical data to back this up?

Everyone is right. Although tightening your ab muscles will cause you to look slimmer. Reverse truncation works, just keeping your stomach sucked in most of the day, your pants will become looser. But it's not going to help as far as wieght lose

unless you want your ripped washboard stomach to be hanging over your belt making you look fat, I suggest you DO do situps. yeah that's right plain old situps that destroy your back and destroy the stock market and cause world poverty and every other evil you can imagine.

Ever see those big ripped guys who have distended stomachs? That's cause all they do are crunches. crunches are great for hitting your abs but theres muscles that hold your guts tight and prevent that big bloated flabby belly look that don't get worked from crunches. They get worked from situps and stomach vaccuums.

I'm not saying this happens to everyone, but a lot of people have this problem. They can do cardio and crunches till the cows come home but you'll still see them with big guts. It's cause they don't work those inner ab muscles as I'll call them. I'm one of these people who have this problem. I need to do situps and vacuums or else I look pregnant.

Thanx for the replies........i'm on a strrict cutting diet........i want my abs to show. I'll be on this diet for 12 weeks w/only 2 cheat meals a month. I really never been on a steady ab routine. How much do you guys work your abs? 3x a week? THanx
 
I personally work them every day I'm at the gym. Abs are an extremely tough muscle and can stand a lot of work.

I just consider it another way to burn calories like everything else.

I also like to do it every day because it helps me keep my eyes on the prize. I feel good after I do them, and that helps me stick to the diet. :)
