I find it really funny that we think we are so smart, We can make a f-ing computer from materials that come from the earth, but yet we cannot conquer or even begin to understand the way the mind works.

I believe that we should keep the technology the way it is, meaning not regressing nor progressing, I mean who the fuck needs a robot vaccum cleaner, or digital cameras the size of a penny for fucks sake.

What do we work for? what do we spend our money on? The bottem line is we spend it on Shit we dont need.....

We should focus our money and time to developing and understanding the human mind and body.

I know for a fact that the human mind does not even come close to living up to its full potential. We cannot even begin to fathom the powers that the mind beholds.

I think we can only go so far with technology before we start playing GOD, which we have no right to do.

In the future we should be able to manipulate and tween the powers of the mind in order rid ourselves from the evil that will one day be our demise.

I have researched a little on those religions/ways of life. I also Find that Wicca, even though it has a bad name, is close to this and is not what all people think of it, with the black magic and shit.

multiple issues in your argument i disagree with.

1. we spend trillions trying to understand the mind & body. Prozac has only been around for 10 years. neurology is a gigantic science right now. Why do you think we mapped the genome? We are figuring out the mind because we finally have the tools necessary to do so (if we tried before the 60's, we wouldn't have had the tech. to do it right. It would be superstitious bullshit based on psychological observation). The MRI, necessary for brain mapping (which is used to identify mental illnesses & whatnot) didn't exist until 1972.

2. Why can't we play god? isn't that the purpose of figuring our own minds out, to control our destinies instead of being slaves to all powerful emotions doled out by an inflexible brain?

I for one will take a scientific solution that lets me control my life rather than a religion that gives me the illusion that i do.

Besides, people arent our enemy, neither is starvation, or torture. our minds are our enemy. Anyone who tortures you is really just manipulating your mind into torturing you. Pretend you have a room with 2 kids and an abusive dad. If kid A is mad at kid B, kid A will trick the dad into beating the shit out of kid B. That is what evil & torture is, just humans, bacteria, mother nature etc forcing our brains to torture us. eliminating the capacity to feel the results of evil will work better than trying to eliminate evil.

No, I dont mean Neurology at all. I dont how different recepters match up with different nuerons and such.

I mean harnessing the power of your mind to control different aspects of life, more along the lines of spiritual, subcontious, and how you define reality.

Humans are the most advanced creatures on earth, there is no doubt of this, but think logically about it. Humans as we know them have only been around for roughly 20000-40000 years. Although it seems like a long time compared to the average life span, its really not all that long in the scheme of evolution. Before that, we were semi-dumb creatures that couldnt comprehend many things even the most simple minds do now.

Humans will continue to get smarter and smarter as long as our race survives. I dont think we'll ever use 100% of our brainpower without somehow using technology to do it.

I dont agree. Technology will get so advanced we will not know how to do anything without it, thus becoming dummer as a whole. Yes maybe some people will be smarter but the general public will become lazy, selfish, and downright stupid, wait most people are already like this.

Hell yes I realized this. Probably when I was in about 2nd or 3rd grade, actually.

You're right, on average, most people arent that smart. Some can make up for it with other talents, but most cant.

Most of them pay for it in life, too. They 'pay for it' by working low-skill jobs, getting paid less than smarter people (usually), etc.
