When power goes out

It's cold and fucking boring.
Our power was out for about 24 hrs this weekend, but some peeps will be out 5-10 days, so I guess we got lucky.
I don't know how people did it in the old days.

the island I lived on this summer experienced a huge wind storm which knocked out power on most of the island for 3-4 days. By some chance luck the restaurant I worked in still had power and it was teh only one on the island and I have never seen it so busy before and people were so grateful that they could come somewhere to get warm food and drink hot coffee, so they were all really nice for once. Just shows how a disaster like that can really bring people together.

Also shows that people are moronic if they care about coffee that much.

yep, I didn't lose mine, but almost all of my neighbors and town did. I'm on a different line or something from most of the town. Thank gawd.

Where do you live? I'm in IL where we had a NASTY ice storm. covered everything with a half inch of ice

I live in WA state. It wasn't ice for us, it was wind. Since we've had record rains in Nov. it made all the tree roots all loose, then the wind came in and knocked some shit around. We had bout 1,000,000 people without power at one point. I think its about 200,000 that still don't have power from Thursday night.
It lets you know how much you depend on electricity.
