Whats the next step for internet connectivity?

Most people are getting Cable or ADSL. Whats the next step that we'll be seeing in the future to boost speeds?
Satellite?

theres already satelite. For now it's not going to get much better than that, im sure it can spew out more pages per second than you can ingest unless your Data.
