the bottle top filter i just got is a whatman zapcap cr it says it is not sterile, can you stil use them? thanks

all I can tell you is good luck on actually getting a tight seal on the media bottle with it. bitch is a pain in the ass and I had to end up wrapping the entire neck and zapcap threads up with saran wrap in order to get a seal that didn't leak air.

oh yeah, they are not sterile. they are under the notion that the media bottle you are filtering into is going to be sterile. As long as it is and you add 2-3% BA you are fine.

im filtering some fina so i got on a site and ordered a bottle top filter and just kinda excpected it to be sterile since thay are used to sterilize things but when i got it the bag it came in said that it was not sterile so what i was wondering is the filter still gonna sterilize the gear or just contaminate it more. but aap said he has used them and they will work so im just gonna use it.

would you guys take the risk of ruining the tren by heating it to help with the sterilizing? i have read that people will heat there tren to much and it will crash so i think im just gonna count on the filter and ba to do the trick, whats your guys opinion?

what happens is that when they heat it up too much, the BB is evaporated and when it cools down there is little to no solvent (BB) left to keep the solution suspended. So it crashes again.

If crashed, just add a bit more BB (not BA) to the mix or EO. That will take care of it.

If you have min 1% BA in your mix it will make it sterile ..

BA makes it sterile,, filter removes all the cr@p

The Zapcap CR's seem to be the only filters that can handle EO well without melting
