What would happen???

What would happen if you were on steroids ate a large amount of protein but was still caloric defecit. (by a little bit) Would you burn fat and make muscle? Do nothing or build lean muscle. Obviously people make muscle gains even while on a cutting diet so what would it be like if they did this? Just curious .....

Basic physics:

Energy loss = Weight loss
Energy gain = weight gain
+ BMR, or - BMR

creating "muscle" mass on a coloric deficit would be breaking Einstein' rules of physics; you cannot create energy or destroy it.

In short-terms, you'll need a caloric surplus to gain.

Throw in lots of little snacks that will drive your calories well over the required limit without you even knowing it! Buy weight gainer drinks and have 2-3 a day. Easy! Buy lots of Hazel-Nuts. They are easy to snack on and contain a mother load of protein and calories, and eat a tub or two of cottage cheese. Simple, but very effective and you don't even need to feel hungry to eat any of them!

yes...
but the excess gear means positive nitrogen balance, and less cortisol..
leading to less muscle wasting in any at all.

When someone who is sedentary firsts starts to train they will usually burn fat and build muscle at the same time. At a certain level of fitness this is no longer possible; where that level is depends on your individual body chemistry and your age.

ugh, my little brother i swear he has the drive and determination of anyone I know, and he seriously could do well in bodybuilding. But he has big diet problems, his body won't let him eat lots of food or else his IBS will act up violently and give him stomach cramps (bad enough he can't workout) Im trying to give him something to work with here..... He is allready on medication for it.

I have ulcerative colitis so I can relate to his struggles. Has he taken anti-biotics for extended periods of time? Like for bad skin? I would almost bet money that's what gave me colitis. I got put on colazal and it got me straightened out. I hope he gets this worked out. It definitely put my life into perspective, you learn to appreciate everyday.

well his is on clindamycin for acne??? is that a anti biotic? I am also on it though and im fine....... He really does pretty well unless he eats lots of food. But that is the only way he is going to gain weight though......

You would be wasting a lot of time and energy by not allowing your body to grow.

I disagree, if you were cutting, you wouldn't want to be focusing on growth but would still want the gear to preserve what muscle you had. So it wouldn't truly be a waste at all.

could it have something to do with his stomach problems? It is a pad that you wipe over your face. Should he try not using them for a while he has been on them for years

I second that....it isn't easy but as long as you keep a positive nitrogen balance you would build some muscle

dieting while on gear would def mean less muscle loss but tough to gain with limited calories. most gear requires high calories for it to work to max potential, especially gear like deca, equi. primo and i think anavar can give optimum results, for what it is, on calorie restricted diet as long as protien intake is high. plus, equi and deca makes you so damn hungry its hard to stick to low cal diet where as primo doesnt make you as hungry all the time.

Honestly I would get off it immediately, I bet his problems will improve if he starts taking a good por-biotic and gets his bacterial balance back in his GI tract. That shit kills all bacteria, not just the bad stuff. I know I sound like some kind of conspiracy theorist, but I almost guarantee that there is a connection. I was on and off anti-biotics for years before it fucked me up, don't give it a chance to.

Of course you will hold more muscle. They are called ANABOLIC steroids, that means growth, use them to grow. Obviously they are useful for cutting, but they are best used for growth and unless you have a specific purpose for getting lean why wouldn't you take advantage of the optimal growth environment your body is in? I am pre-contest right now and using drugs of course, but if I wasn't getting ready for a show I would be killing food so my body could grow.
