I'm interested to see what will come of the Kurds in the final wash-up. I can imagine that the U.S has done a deal with Turkey that the U.S will not support the establishment of an independant Kurdish state.
If the Kurds are simply satisfied with autonomy and have no further desire for the creation of an indendant state, then it won't be a problem. But, i can't see them being satisfied with that.
Turkey will not allow the creation of an independant state under any circumstances, so the tinder box in the north of Iraq could well erupt, regardless of the outcome of the war.
The real test is on the U.S. If Turkey suppresses any moves by the Kurds with force, and the U.S tacitly watches on the sidelines, it will blow up in George Bush's face big time.
As usual, the key to one problem opens the door to another in the middle east.
