For those that might be interested:

Oxidative stress can result from the inability to detoxify reactive oxygen species such as superoxide radicals, hydrogen peroxide, and hydroxy radicals. These forms of oxygen can be damaging to the body. Production of reactive oxygen species may be caused by transient hyperoxia at the site of the mitochondria, ischemic-repurfusion, and/or the mechanical forces evident during intense resistance exercise (McBride et al. 1998). Cellular functions may be altered by lipid peroxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids as a result of these reactive oxygen free radicals. Malondialdehyde (MDA) is a byproduct of lipid peroxide and is a popular marker of oxidative tissue damage that increases during exercise. Exercise intensity is thought to be the determining factor in the degree of lipid peroxidation, another marker of oxidative stress (Marzatico, Pansarasa, Bertorelli, Somenzini, and Valle 1997; and McBride et al. 1998). Phaneuf and Leeuwenburgh (2001) state that as muscle metabolism increases during exercise, reactive oxygen species formation increases. Physiological defense mechanisms against free radical damage are not clear and remain controversial (Marzatico et al. 1997).

With all that said, there is some evidence that Vitamin C may help protect against free radical damage.

Lol, I see alot of people take their supplement intake very seriously. Must cost a fortune.

I only take a multi vit and min every morning, and glucosamine/ chondroitin based compounds when I am recovering from a connective tissue injury.
