what to do if you keep getting virus emails?

i keep getting sent the same file from lots of different addy's, all saying 'bill' or 'document' or 'important'

they are all .exe so theres no way in hell i'll open them, but they keep getting sent to me. does this mean i have something on my computer already, or has my email got onto someones computer as an addy to send emails to or what, and how do i stop it? its irritationg as its clogging up my account limit

Some numbnut you know has you in his/her address book and is infected. If you were the one infected they'd all be outbound, and the return address would NOT point back to you.

Umm, first ditch the shitty address getting the spam.
Second, get a new address.
Third, do NOT give out this address to websites or dotcom companies.
Fourth, STOP DOWNLOADING from kazaa, eMule and other shitbag virus warehouses.

I have received a couple that say: "sh4dowf4lcon_details.zip"

I save them to a floppy and then I have an extra PC that is on any network. I'll scan it and unzip, sometimes I find the virus and the file is deleted.

Never open an attmt. from someone you dont know and never open a questionable file on a computer while logged on with admin account.

i;ve got norton running on 1 computer and it hasnt found anything, i'll whack it on my laptop and see if thats screwed up too. i went to some porn link once and a .exe extension opened up in the browser window, i closed it and norton hasnt picked up anthing so i hope i'm ok

Code, explain to me in baby language how using Kazaa results in me getting the virus's. as far as i am aware the various movie files i download can't hold virus's, yhet i have also noticed norton picks up the odd one every 3-4 months, when it never used to before kazaa...i dont understand unless the host computer is virus infected and somehow send it to me when im downloading, and even then wouldn't it tell me?!?

i read it when you posted it, but it seemed to say that they were all .exe and word docs and stuff like that, it said AVI and MPEG weren't capable of having a virus attached to them, but then i also remember you saying some bugger has probably figured it out...i guess i gotta find a better porn source

spybot search & destroy found stuff that noton didn't..........and vice versa. the combo of the 2 cleared up my seriously foiked up 'puter. i had to run them several times.

Spybot doesn't detect viruses, it's for spyware.

And it's not been updated for months. I had to use hijackthis to remove some spyware that Spybot missed.
