What`s the difference between Experience, wisdom, smart and intelligent?

You can have one without the other, you can have some but not all but can you have some and NOT the other? lol Not sure what I just said but someone can surely explain what these words mean.

I consider myself wise but never went to college. My point is you can be wise without being book smart. Is that possible?

What other scenarios can be true?

experience - necessary for wisdom
wisdom - the ability to make good decisions
smart - able to learn new things
intelligent - academically smart

You can have some but not the other. I dont think you can have wisdom without experience, but the others are independent. You can be academically competent but a mediocre thinker.

I was going to make a post about this yesterday 'which is more important, academic intellect or life intellect'. I would choose life intellect by a million miles.

Experience opens the door to wisdom.
Smart allows you to learn fast so you don't have to go through the experience to gain the wisdom per se.
Intelligence is smarts in academics which give you the knowledge to make smart decisions in the experiences you go through that leads to wisdom.

It all comes full circle.

My fault for jumping in your kool-aid. In my defense though I linked them all together.

Good, but I don`t care how smart you are, at some point you will need that experience or it will hit you like a ton of bricks. Somewhere, somehow... the "smart" guy will trip up due to lack of experience.

But in todays age, can't you gain info w/o experience, just by listening to those with experience and heeding what htey have to say? I am drawn on this because i dont think that unless you have the personal experience, you will not understand fully how important something is or isn't, but if you respect and trust others who do have experience, you can model then. So you need experience, but then again you don't.

There are certain types of people i have no experience with but from listening to those with experience i know to avoid them, shit like that.

Ahhh, TRUST is the key word there. lol Trust is a very hard thing to do ESPECIALLY if you don`t agree with who you`re trusting. I`ve touched on this on another thread somewhere.

Trusting someone when you agree with them is easy. Try doing it when you think the person is totally wrong. That is what I call trust.
