what pisses me off

Buying a 40gig hard drive, but after u format it, its only a 32gig hard drive. thats bullshit. never had this happen before. im formatting in NTFS btw, so recognizing all 40gig should be no problem. usually after formatting you will lose about a gig or 2 on a 40 gig hard drive, but you should never lose 8 gigs. thats crazy....
 
What kind of PFT (post formating therapy) are you running?
 
i think the reason for this is that technically there are only 1,000 bytes in a megabyte, however old school rules say there are 1,024 bytes in a megabyte. they calculate your drive space by the 1,024 rule, which makes you think you are getting more space per drive. when actually.. you will be shorted 24 bytes per meg of space on your hard drive. or you will be shorted 2.4megs per gig. something like that. not sure if my math is correct but its pretty darned close.
