I like vonnegut's dark comedic style. Breakfast of champions and slaughter house 5 were good books i read in highschool.

Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham.
A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking.

I have an Audio book of A brief history of time. Absolutely fascinating for people like me.

I am suprised no one mentioned Orwell. I would also like to add names of William B Yeats - "man and poet" by Norman Jeffares.

Henry Miller. Would like to know if anyone read any of his work and what they think of it.

James Joyce's Finnegans Wake is something i am regretfully(too tempting) getting into. I know people who have been studying it for years and have gone absolutely nuts. I guess I am nuts too.

The statesman by Plato. I haven't read this one yet.

Totem and Taboo by Sigmund Freud. I would like to read a lot of his work.

And many more but i don't want to make this post any longer.

What would Machiavelli do? The Ends justify the meanness.

"The ultimate guide to corporate backstabbing".

I love this book. If you want to rule like I do, you should not only read this book, it should be your bible.

You read Fat Horse Lover?
I was really into his books at one time, I think I read them all. I re-read "a scanner darkly" a few months ago, still good, but I didn't like it as much as I did when I was 17.

My 2 favorite authors would be Hemingway and Dostoyevski, I cant narrow it down to a favorite book.

For just entertainment I like W.E.B. Griffen - Brotherhood of War series, The Corps series, & The Cop series.
Robert A Heinlein
Isaac Asimov - Foundation series
Penthouse Forum - with wifey, :p
