Have an unemployed who wants a referal for a QA position we have open here. He has 3 years of just VB experience. Trying to figure out what VB is used for before I refer him.
Does this mean you have to know a lot about databases? Like Oracle and SQL 2000? If so, then there is another job open for a DBA that I could refer him for.
Not exactly sure what front end management of DB's means.
No you don't have to know a lot about database systems and setups to use VB. It has a wide array of functionality in programming terms. It's no C++, or Java but it can crank.
It's just really good for DB front end development so that has become its main area of use.
Ahhhh ok. So I will not refer him to the DB admin side. I am guessing that you use VB with a lot of GUI interfaces to extract/manipulate data sort of like an advance MS Forms and Reports for Access. From what I can see of Crystal Reports and Winrunner, they look like they are used the same way.
I don't want to refer someone that didn't make the cut.
