its negative karma. people will give you positive karma if you help them, or say something funny or great or they just like your post or like you.
people will give you negative karma if you're annoying or make a bunch of nonsensical posts or harass people or they just don't like you. If you get 4 negative karmas in a short amount of time, your posts will be blacked out for a day or two.
