Munchausen syndrome by proxy
Munchuasen Byproxy is a mental disorder where someone will injury another person, usually someone close to them, over and over again.
If they are spiking your food, setting you up for injuries, over and over again then they might have the disorder.
If it is a one time thing then they are probably just really pissed at you.

It is a disorder, so there isn't really any one thing that they use - they just use things that will allow one to get sick.
In the movies they use floor cleaners, wood polish, etc.
