What is a good PC multiplayer (internet) game

I have half life and all the mods, and i also have Battlefield 1942, now im looking for more multiplayer games. Name some good multiplayer PC games, preferably ones that i can get on ebay for $10 or less.

Ghost recon goes for as little as $3 (& 2s/h) on ebay. Is it a game with alot of internet servers? What about the server situation for Rainbow Six 3 or Tribes 2? Rainbow Six 3 is about $15, but Tribes 2 is about $7

i might get ghost recon then, gamble with $5 to see if its a good game.

Ever head of Half life or some of it's mod including Counterstrike?

you can easily find these around to download an play for free. i've been playing this game for 5 years free.......no matter what multi game I play or pay for or whatever i always end up coming back to counterstrike for amusement.
