What does "sith" refer to?

I don't want a goddamned geneology explanation of every fakin star wars character either. just tell me what the hell it means, so I will only be 99% clueless about this pop culture crapola.

In the fictional Star Wars universe, the Sith were a humanoid race who were enslaved by a group of warrior priests who follow the dark side of the Force and serve as the evil counterparts to the Jedi. Those Dark Jedi became known as "Sith Lords." Sith Lords often adopt names which are preceded by "Darth."

to be "funny", it has to at least "make sense"

at the risk of giving in to my inner nerd.. he is right about the Sith.

In Nerd Wars lore.. they were a race of force sensitive creatures "conquered" by the dark Jedi when they were driven from the old republic. For thousands of years the dark jedi intermingled their masteyr of the force with the sith and took on their practices and names.

2 jedi on a deep space exploration found the sith planet thousands of years later.. the sith though they were the forerunners of an invasion force .. having lost their back to the old republic.. placed a beacon on their ship and let them escape. They followed back with an armada of ships but were defeated.

In episode 9 (according to the script) Luke and Hans children (all jedi of some sort) destroy the Sith homeworld with a black hole weapon.


SO there you have it.. straight from the Barnes and Noble Nerd Wars history book. LOL

That's not even how a lisp works. Someone with a lisp would be unable to say the word "sith".
