What does it mean when you have an "unknown" number calling you

on your cell phone? They're using *67 or is it just a legit call that your phone network doesn't recognize. It's starting to piss me off, I just may answer it if it happens again. Three times so far.

Could be either or.
Most likely some one who does not have their number listed with the phone company

*67, unlisted, some 800, 888, 877 and some international calls don't come up.

probably caller ID block. I have my VOIP set so those calls go right to voicemail.

i don't answer them usually. i know most of the numbers calling me, if its unknown, generally its someone that say, "hello Nate?" yesssss???? "Hi Nate, this is <name> from <so and so company>...."

We are becoming such a meek and feeble society. Very few solid peeps out there anymore. Insecurity can spread like a disease.

I think if they call again I'll ask them why they aren't leaving a message.

Agreed. If it it that important of a phone call than they should leave a message.
nor do i appreciate people who call and say on the machine "hi, its me.give me a call".
Even if it is a friend it is still rude

In my case it works without the phone even ringing; so I don't even have to know they called. However I do have it set to email me the voicemail message so I can listen from any computer.
