paint is simple, don't know what you're talking about

Well maybe I just don't know how to use it, cuz I don't use it much but when I do, what I want to resize doesn't come out the way I want it.....

I use the 'resise pictures' option in the menu that pops up after right clicking on the image. I have XP Pro, however. If you don't have that, then you may not be able to access that feature.

paintshop pro or unix software you've never heard of.

I don't have that option....."resize pictures" doesn't show up under file, edit, view, image, etc....

My desktop runs XP so maybe I'll have to use that instead of the laptop maybe??

under image, click resize pic, put the deminisons in pixels and allow distortion...

Well under "image" I click on "attributes" which will allow me to resize the pic by cm, inches or pixels.......but when I choose the pixels, it'll resize the pic & cut off the right side & bottom part of the pic insted of just making the whole pic smaller.....so I have to cut out a portion of the pic & save to new, blah blah blah, which is kind of a pain....

I know you guys have offered to do it FOR me, which I appreciate greatly!!

But I want to try to figure it out on my own.....but I get frustrated when it doesn't work!

170x200 pixels is a very small pic.....I can't get the pic down that small....Ugh!!

TQ-- I tried the stretch/skew and it didn't help....it's obviously the user! LOL

OK then, It's really not a problem. If you want help compressing it into .jpeg or .gif format from MS_Paint, shoot me a PM. Good luck.

Here's one that's easy, fast, and most importantly, free: Irfanview!

You can download it from www.irfanview.com.

I can crop and resize a .jpg in Irfanview faster than it takes to just open a picture in Photoshop.

I wasn't referring to you paying for it... I just quoted you because 7.0 is the program of choice and she said she did not want to pay. ;)

Irfanview is one of those few programs that is actually loveable. I would pay money for an Irfanview Pro, with more powerful photo editing features, if it is still as easy as the free Irfanview, and as fast, and runs in as small a footprint.
