What does DHEA do?

I keep hearin about it, but dont really know what dhea does in the body.....can a bro help me out?

DHEA is a hormone that is a precursor to Testosterone.

It goes something like this: Cholesterol > DHEA > Androstenedione > Test

But it can also turn to Estrogen and Progesterone, so it's not necessarily a good thing to take.
