I'm trying to get really dark for my show w/ the tanning beds. I'm using Mega Vibe Tanning lotion right now, its a "tingle kind"... Do you all have any other suggestions? I'm still getting red from this but not dark fast enough??

PLEASE HELP!

im sure everyone is different but ive had good success with carmel spice-HOT or whatever and that swedish beauty stuff. for some reason titanium something or other rings a bell. like every salon has it.

Most of the swedish beauty products are really good, the ones with the tingle factor. I change my lotions every few months cause my bod gets used to the same lotion and i find i get darker when i switch around a bit, go to abettertan.com u can get lotion mega cheap, they charge you crazy money at the salons!!!!

L-tyrosine caps or look for it in tan accelerators- and carrot butter- got the carrot butter in Aruba, haven't seen it since

arrrgggh... i hate the tingle factor... it reacts with my skin and makes me look like this         in a matter of minutes after i put it on

goes a way in a couple of hours, but i hurt so bad and i can't stand to be in the bed... guess i have sensitve pale red head skin :(

the funny thing is, i know it will happen and i still insist on using the stuff every once in a while... is that dumb or what???? :)

No way thats not dumb, because even w/ your skin getting so red within minutes (mine does also... sucks!) but your tan will be much darker then if you used the regular stuff. Right?? Thats why you keep using it! LOL, like the rest of us w/ crappy, pale skin!

I like the swedish beauty products too, but another that I've been using lately is Cafe Bronzer - HOT. I used them both before my show. I had a really hard time tanning (possibly being so lean?), I ended up depending a lot on the pro tan, and it actually turned out pretty good - even without a really dark base-tan.

I've used the carmel spice stuff and then a lot of aloe afterwards! It turns you bright red for a little while, but then its a vaso dilator... So people only think of you as a lobster recently boiled for a little while.... Tanning is like training, its takes a while in limited amounts, build up, get the tan and maintain it...!

My best luck with salon tanning is to first find an EXTREMLY well taken care of salon, that has a variety of bed (different strengths). When I want to get the darkest I can in the shortest amount of time I do the following:
Always use a lotion
Apply your lotion to clean skin if possible (no makeup)
Take advantage of the variety of beds- for example what I do is one day I use a 20 minute bed to just bring my skin's melanin, the next day I use the ten minute "bronzer bed" to tan that melanin I brought up the day before.
Taking care of your skin after tanning is just as important. I used to think the special lotions that are out there for "after tanning" were a gimick but they are worth the money. Normal body lotions can contain oils that can strip your tan. The same for shower gels and bar soaps are even worse. I invested in the special shower gel that you can get, and I am keeping my tan longer and more natural looking with using them.

I also can't use the tingling lotions (HIGHLY ALERGIC i found out the hard way) so my best luck with lotions has been Cappucino.

Good Luck, Hope I was a help :)
