what do you think would win?

I think

the poar bear would win, but my whole office is arguing the lion would win. back me up

Depends on whose hungrier.... I'd kill one of each to eat a prey as sweet as Calico or Natglutes. Paradice don't count she hardly ever posts anymore... hee hee.. hint hint paradice..

An adult male polar bear can weigh between 775 and 1,500 pounds.
An adult male lion weigh between 370 and 500 pounds

I think the Polar bear would eat the lion for lunch. Lions are about 6-7 feet in length as well and pretty sure Polar Bears are more. So if you disagree, please state why.

I am so bored that this is all I have to do, sad.

It is not the size of the dog in the fight, it is the size of the fight in the dog, that wins the fight!

You have something their. Lions are far more ferocious than Polar Bears I believe. And female lions ( a pride) have been known to take down Buffalo that weigh a ton or more. Then again, one good pounce from the Polar Bear with those huge claws and it might be all over.
Anyone else?

I think the only place you'd find a polar bear and a lion in the same vicinity would be at a zoo. The polar bear would be playing around in his simulated arctic environment looking at the lion, like "Chill Bro, have a frosty cone". And the lion would be like, "Goddam it looks cold in there". And then go off to find a nice T-bone that the zoo attendants left out for the tiger.

.... My job fascinates me - I could stare at it for hours....

LOL, I dont know why I found that to be so funny. :D

Lions lay around in the sun all day and sleep 22 hours a day.
Polar bears gotta deal with 50 mph winds, crappy cold ass weather 6 months of near darkness and skinny eskimo's for dinner.

I'd bet the bear has a mean attitude having to deal with life up there and therefore would win.

I think setting has a big part to play in this equation -- who would have home field advantage. On neutral ground, I would have to go with the lion.

What are you thinking the polar bear is the second largest carnivore on the planet next to the killer whale they yank wallruses out of the water and there A hell of Alot bigger than any lion.

Not at all but A polar bear is real fast also .Look at it like this It takes 1 or 2 lions to take down A water buffalo or A wildabeast A grizzly bear mind you dan break the neck of A moose with one swipe.I like lions don't get me wrong but Alion killing A polar bear it ain't gonna happen.:splat:

hey supersizeme, what the hell are you trying to say? the polar bear would win, those motherfuckers are bad ass.

dudes

i talked to a person who is going to school to study animals and ive got your answer. the polar bears fur coat is to coarse and thick for a lions teeth and claws which are desinged to rip a different type of material. the polar bears weapons see much more adversity and are made to destroy anything. he said 100%, polar bear wins. I would like to say i am looking to buy a lion and polar bear and set something up in my backyard. tickets will be 20$, but free to you guys, lets get it on

you don't know much about lions. The females do most of the hunting, yes. The male role is mainly protecting the pride from hyenas and other predators. The hyenas are the Lion's natural nemisis/rival for food. Male lions kill potential threats to the pride, the are not pussies by any stretch of the imagination. It is the king of it's domain.

a blow from a bear can decapitate a man.....the fact that a lion roars so loadly (can be heard 10miles away) might scare away the bear, but in terms of attacks even though the lion is fast itcan only really attack straightishly, and with teeth andlow power slashes. the bear should be able to take these and swipe aty it and bruck that lions ass. and lions constantly have tio defend their pride against otherblions etc.

I got a video of a moutain lion and a grizzly brawling...The moutain lion was too fast for the bear got up behind his neck/back and enentaully ran the bear off...I think the real brawl would be between a lion and a Kodiak bear...

but the chicken could peck their eyes out. .... plus if it is decpitated by a bears swing, it can still run around scratching for a while.
