Darfuer is a region in Sudan. theres been a war in that area since the late 80s/ early 90s but in early 2003 there was a scorched earth campaing implemented that has affected civilians. civilains are being tortured, killed, raped and displaced by militias which has left a death toll of over 400,000. the UN wants to help but the Sudanese government is not allowing them because it thinks the conflict is a civil war that outsiders should butt out of.
anyway, this website is a game that places you as a refugee surviving in Darfur. i know the website is meant to bring awareness of the conflict but playing a Darfurian hiding from the milita just looks wrong to me.
