How much is 300.00 pounds. Less than $1000.00 USD I'm guessing.

lol yeah.. thats whats making me think,.. mmmmm :worried: ... my grandad has one and it cost him like 2,300. 2 years ago. its a classy car.

Not bad, if you do a good tune up, make sure everything is running right, it could be a very good everyday car.........reliable too......

I had 2001 540 and loved every minute of it.........i couldnt get it in manual and had to settle for automatic, but damn was it a good car.

is it expensive to do up ? or to run ?

Well its not that expensive if you have earlier series.....like 91-97........i like them and they arent expensive to run.............very cheap parts and easy to do them yourself.....the car is a good fixer-upper and wont cost much in parts while it will give you decent performance and value.......

The one you're getting might not be too good of a deal if you ask me..........under a $1000 you wont get much, but i dont really know unless you give more detail on what the make, what year, whats the condition and if you drove it already....

WTF, ill go bank rupt

If you can, go with a diesel, even though i know they are somewhat more expensive in europe........and with a car that aint so heavy......5 series is quite heavy and it might give you problems going up steeper hills.......and i know you have those in scotland

Go to www.consumerguide.com or edmunds.com or get a Carfax history if you have the VIN #. I currently drive an e46 AC Schintzer bimmer that is the shit. I have personally omned 3 bimmers, 3 audi's, 1 porsche, 1 VW Golf GTI VR6, German cars are built great, truly a drivers car's with finesse and the only car manufacturer that does not share it parts with other manufacturer's which make them unique and why they hold such high resale value. They may not be the fastest off the line but midrange they kick ass if you know how to drive one. Oh and they are classy and built with the driver in mind. I'm a bimmer fanatic is you can't tell!!
