I work in IT. I do alot of extra work on the side, mainly for local business's. I have this one company who has been taking a long time to pay on each job, but I always end up collecting my money. Seems like each time it takes longer to get paid for my work. A few weeks ago, I ran some cat5 cable and hooked up some printers, jet direct boxes, installed a switch, etc. I quoted him 8 hours labor + materials originally which came out to $400. The total bill ended up being $392.97 or something. Anyways, to make a long story short.. the guy won't return my phone calls or emails. The company previously went bankrupt and opened back up and seemed to be doing fine but obviously not because it doesn't look like im getting paid for this job. What can I do? I have no signed contract with him or anything. He was a nice guy so it was just honor system. Other than small claims court or better business bureau, what else can I do? I don't really have the time and resources to chase down $392. But money is money, and I could use it.
