What Bodyfat was Bruce Lee?

About as low as you can go. I've never seen better definition but I've never bought a muscle mag either.

About the same as Arnie....i think he was about 4%? Who really knows anyways. You would have to skin someone to really find out.

Asian peoples supposedly maintain higher visceral bodyfat than most others, just found that out today.

Bruce was THEE MAN.

People used to talk about how he was the baddest man alive. I never bought into that. I'm sure he could whip the vast majority of men. But how bad can a 130lb. man be? If you ever watch the Ultimate Fighting Championships with all the martial artists, you never see a little bitty dude in there. The winners are always big MOFO's, except for Joyce Gracie, but he is 6'1".

I always thought it would be interesting to put some martial artists up against boxers. I always found kicks very easy to dodge myself. You can grab their leg sometimes and really toss them around with it.

Funny how those people defending him almost certainly never actually saw him in a fight. Yet they feel they can defend him being the best fighter in the world based on his choreographed fight sceens... idoits! I've been in many arguments over this.

When he discovered weights, he got up to 165 pounds. I forget what his good morning record was, but he could hold out 135 pounds on a barbell straight out in front of him, he was a strong motherfucker.

Bodyweight is not everything, do you really think Oprah would have a chance against him? I didn't think so.

His competitive record was excellent to say the least.

Interesting that you say boxers, because he spent a lot of time studying Muhammid Ali, watching film, etc. He liked boxing more than most martial artists and tried to incorperate some of the striking techniques.

Any guy that can drive his fingers thru an unopened Coke can, do pushups on his thumbs, or explode a 100 lb punching bag with a kick is pretty jacked.

"Bruce was incredibly strong for his size. He could take a 75-pound barbell and, from a standing position with the barbell held flush against his chest, he could slowly stick his arms out straight out, lock them and hold the barbell there for 20 seconds - that's pretty damn good for a guy who at the time weighed only 138 pounds! I know 200-pound weightlifters who can't do that!"

"Bruce had a big heavy bag hanging out on this patio. It weighed 300 pounds. I could hardly move it at all. Bruce said to me 'Hey, wally, watch this!' and this monster of a heavy bag went up to the ceiling - thump! - and came back down. I still can't believe the power that guy had."

I buy into the baddest man alive thing.....

Don't believe the hype! I think I could take his lunch money.

I recently saw a life history on AMC about his life and times and they had a bit of 8mm film on him in an actual fight on the roof top of a building in Honk Kong. Sort of a street fighters tournament. The guy he was fighting held his own no doubt.

The coolest thing about lee is that he carved his own path and lived by his phylosphy. Very few can claim this in life.

but probably Ken Shamrock or an angry Scott Steiner lol

300 lbs bag in the ceiling? I certainly don´t buy that... even some of the strongest weighlifters can´t do that...
For the most part he was an actor... i think most of this stuff is hype...

Wonder what would give out first? Bruce Lee's fist or Houdini's abs? For those of you that don't know, Houdini was rumored to have steel like abs once he contracted them and often let people punch him in them. Ironic he died from an unexpected blow to the solar pelexis (sp?)

bruce lee could kill you all, still, and ken shamrock, the rock, mike tyson, and whatever other little anorexic wrestling/ufc/boxing bitches ya'll can think of. blasphemous freaks.

True Dat....

The biggest question is who is better... Jet Li or Jackie Chan?

Bruce Lee was asked if he could beat Ali in a fight. Bruce said he didn't think so, due to Ali's size adavantage. I would have loved to see it nonetheless. He was a quick little bastard, and would be really tough to hit. He also must have had one of the highest power to weight ratios out there. His feats of strength are ledendary. It sucks that he died so young.

Ali was a boxer, any good wrestler could kick his ass. Boxers are very limited in what they can do. If you know anything about real fighting, you would know this. Ali would have to get one lucky punch against any very good wrestler or else he's toast. You dumbasses can believe what you want.

You didn't do enough research. They staged Ali against the highest rated wrestler. The wrestler dropped on his back and stayed there until they called the match. He wouldn't get within 6 feet of Ali unless he was laying on the mat. Almost noyone can handle a good punch from Ali. he was the greatest fighter.

Do you really believe that??? It was staged and it was a little martial arts dude. Don't believe everything you read or see.
I retract the statement about dumbasses. That was uncalled for. Ignorant would have been the correct word. We are all ignorant about things.

Gracie used to beat guys that outweighed him by 60-80 lbs. So skill does come into effect, even in the octagon.

i believe it because I watched it. The wrestler was bigger than Ali. He was considered the worlds best wrestler...Roman Greco if my memory is correct. You really should think about backing down on this one. :)

You probably think the WWF is real wrestling. I've read the complete biography of Muhammed Ali in his own words. He took on some of the fake wrestling guys in exhibition matches. In an exhibition match he took on a legendary wrestler from Japan. The wrestler was not allowed to grapple. Type in Ali vs. Wrestler in your browser and you can read about it. Sorry dude, There were plenty of men that could have kicked Ali's ass. He was a boxer.

Yep, if big tubbo is slower than skinny speedster, tubbo is going down.

Bruce's average weight was 140#'s @ 5' 7"

I would guess he was in the 4-5% BF range.

He was fitness fanatic, to say the least. He was constantly honing his body to peak performance. His power to weight ratio is probably as good as anyone who has imprinted the earth with their foot.

When it comes to speed, few (if any) can match him. There is an interview in which he shows some basic Kung Fu techniques, using a elderly gentleman as a sparring partner. Bruce pulled all the strikes, but the funny thing about it was the old man was reacting well after Bruce's hand/foot had passed his body. Almost like a delayed reaction, but not intentionally delayed.

When it comes to the "Is Bruce the baddest man..." question, it is IMO that he was the baddest of his time. There are many rumors of him fighting on the set of Fists of Fury (the tape was destroyed, by Bruce), flat out fighting Chuck Norris (and winning as the rumor goes), as well as him fighting for the right to teach american's Kung Fu.

Now guys, go run a search on "Hans Morrero" a Marine's instructor. That guy could beat Bruce Lee. Big, athletic, great fighting skills and with some tehcnic (cant remeber which one) is able avoid pain (at least a good part).....

what are you talking about? Oprah will eat anybody alive, literally. She is like a lion going after a deer. She would go for your throat with her big teeth and that's all she wrote. :D

I've been at 4-5.. he must have been right at 4... or just slight under.

I get on the scale and it says...

"one at a time please..."

I believe you guys are talking about Antonio Inoki...

So around 4%, wow. Thats all I really wanted to know anyway ;)

Would you rather be punched by Ali or Marciano?

I'd laugh if he hit me...lol. Why would anyone want to be that lean all the time, especially if it meant being that skinny...

I just don't get it...

inoki fought ali but wasn't allowed to grapple you are correct... altho ali did run into the ring when gorilla monsoon was wrestling and gorilla picked him up and puthim in an airplane spin and ali ran off scared to death.
