I believe AVG is the most popular free antivirus, link included.

Good for you, you are paying for something you dont need to pay for. Norton pays computer manufacturers to pre-install Norton on a trial basis so you get it no matter what. Its a pernicious pain in the fucking ass that should be uninstalled immediately and not support their bullshit rewiring of your computer.

Viruses, become a non issue with any decent anti virus that is continually updated if you control you conections. People miss this but the most important thing you need is a firewall. With that said try Sygate Pro, sygate.com Symatic just bought them out so it marries with Norton well.
