What actor has had the best physique in your opinion?

I'd have to say the black guy Jet Li foguht in Kiss of the Dragon. He was HUGE and he was also fast, although I'm sure cinematic effects helped somewhat, he could still move.

he wasnt big but he was ripped and packing serious power. i would have to say him cuz he was in such great shape all around and he stayed ripped all year.

Carl Weathers. Very muscular, athletic, fit and strong (appearing at least)

I would like to see Carl and Sly box for real back in the Rocky days. I give Sly about 40 seconds in a real boxing match. Weathers was an animal.

carl weathers was huge in predator, and the dude who played lattimer in the program. and mario lopez from saved by the bell! haha, just kidding.
 
well theres many actors that just play one part in a movie b/c the movie needs a muscular guy for the part and then you will never see him again like the black guy in kiss of the dragon or the guy that fights with russel crowe in gladiator, but as an actor most ppl have heard of his name i would have to say jean claude van damme has an impressive physique, hes not huge but still bigt and low bf%.

keneau "i ain't got a clue" reeves looked pumped and cut in "speed", but not in his other films.

the guy with the three first names who plays the lead character in "jag" looked good for the first 2 seasons, but is just a stick with a whinny voice this year. now his co-star, katherine belle (i think)........SCHWIN-N-N-N-G!!!!:p

I agree......he had a pretty decent back too......and some serious feats of strength behind him. He had a functional physique....not just big muscles.

I guess its inevitable that people would go for the names on a bodybuilding board (no offence......just an observation).

I've seen many of these actors in person (Stalone, Pitt, Van Dam, Snipes, Diesel) most of them are not impressive at all (all of them are short from 5'6-5'8 except for Vin @ 5'10 but his legs are twigs), but it's amazing what having good symmetry and the camera does...

In case any of us forget, Height is one of those things like race that we do not get to choose. A short person could surely still have a good physique. But I do get what you are saying. When you see Stallone in Rambo II, and you are thinking he is this big monster, it is much more impressive than thinking (the truth) that he is about five foot seven and maybe 180.

I was discussing this very subject with my training partners bigokie (six five and 275ish) and Screwball (six two and 295) and we could not believe bigokie's claim at the miniscule size of some of these hollyweird guys. You just won him a bet.

They must have some really tiny people cast around these action heroes to make them look big. I need that kind of camera work.

With all the fighting references mentioned id have to say Chuck Zito "the big Italian guy from OZ" probably short as well but he is a bodybuilding fan and a boxer with a black-belt in jujitsu. Hate to get into it with that guy...one hit knocked out Van Damn in a bar fight.

He may be small but it's the look he has that counts.

Vin D looks good, looks like a HUGE dude on screen but someone said he was 5"10.? Wow.

btw - about Stallone in Rambo II - I read an interview and he said he weighed about 170 for the part.

Vin Diesel is 6'2" - I've seen him in person and he is my height.

In the beach scene in Rocky III, (Adrian is talking to "Rocky" about being scared) and is standing in a hole dug into the beach because she was not far from the same height as Sly and he needed to look much bigger than her in the movie.

Damn, I forgot about him. What a genetic monster! Just read that he will play KINGPIN in the upcoming Daredevil movie

for those dissing bruce lee and the like, remember, the poll was for best physique, not necessarily most muscular...

ssalexss, I know you are just looking to stir up trouble with dumb responses :mad: but to enter the Olympia you have to be an actual bodybuilder I think...not just have big, shapeless arms...:rolleyes:
 
Cornholio did you notice the 2" heals on his shoes ? I've seen him around 10x he used to allways go to the HardRock here in Vegas...
 
Bruce Lee gets the most respect from me because he was all natural (duh) and could perform crazy feats of strength for someone weighing less than Calista Flockhart. That, and he could kick ANYONE's ass. But I wouldn't want his physique. Looks too frail.

Young Marlon Brando, good call Corn, he was naturally pretty ripped and had some decent size.

Arnold, its all about "Hercules In New York":D

Did you guys see Toby "I'm a little bitch" Maguire in Spider-Man? Everyone was talking about how buff he was, then I almost died laughing when he was flexing in the mirror. I mean, he was kind of ripped, but PLEASE! Not that you'd want the actor that plays Spider-Man to be all huge...

THE HULK is coming out soon and that should be cool. Who is playing greenie, anybody?

Bruce Lee had a tremendous physique. Yeah, he was skinny as hell, but there wasn't a friggin ounce of fat on the dude, and he had crazy strength. Check out his foreamrs, they were huge. He must have had an insane power to weight ratio. I've heard of stories that say he could hold an 80 lb dumbell with one arm straight out in front of him. Not bad for a 140lb guy.

Van Damme being a former bodybuilder also had a good physique. Good overall proportions.

Carl Weahters in his prime was awesome. Check out Predator, he wasn't far behind Arnie at all.

I also have to give Brad Pitt some props. Yeah, he might weigh 150lbs, but the guy does look good. I'd kill to have a waist like his. Has he had surgery to get his abs as detailed as they are? I guess its his friggin genetics. No matter how lean I get, my lower abs always suck.

Stallone never impressed me much. He was cut in Rocky3, 4 and Rambo 3, but he didn't look all that great. I think Dolph Lundgren had the better physique, and he was MUCH taller too.

Vin Diesel I guess is OK, nothing special.

Special Mention for Edward Norton in American History X. What a change. He must have packed on at least 20-30 lbs of solid muscle for that role. Too bad he decided not to keep it.
 
Remember that what you know of Bruce Lee comes from movies and stories told about him. It is similar to watching Bloodsport and really thinking that Van Damme can do a jump spinning hook kick with his back leg extended to the splits...

He used a trampoline, camera tricks, etc... A lot of my friends can do that...I could come close at one time.

I think its Eric Banner is playing the hulk, Australian actor...Not sure if any of u yanks seen Chopper, but he was in black hawlk down, He is not big by any means, so i dont know what they are thinking.

Eric Banner was a rail in Black Hawk Down, so compared to that, he was pretty damn big in Chopper.

Bruce Lee was more than just an fake fight badass. He engaged in real competitions, and seminars for his own martial art, Jeet Kun Do. He was the real deal, not just some Jackie Chan-ish ballet moves. Has anyone seen pictures of him before he started his obsession with working out? What a dramatic transformation for a hardgainer!

If his frame wasn't so small, and he didn't overtrain so dramatically, he could have really gotten some chops.

Yeah, no doubt. I found it funny at his web site he has a heading called "Bolo's least likely defeats", and it refers to his movie fight with Jean Claude Van Damme :D

I didn't know he was a full on competitive body builder though, cool!

there must be 400+ muscular mofo out there and she should be on screen too.
 
for all u saying michael clark douglas what about ving rhames, he is pretty huge too and has more of the muscular build, hes in many movies if u dont know who im talking about such as rosewood
 
I forgot, the big ass whiteboy from the movie "The Program" the one that is on juice . That boy is swollen, if I had to pick a physique it would be his.
 
Michael Jai White, in Universal Soldier 2. That's inspiration.
Christian Bale was impressive in American Psycho, that's going to be one of my earliest DVD buys.
