Does wellbutrin cause an increase in libido?

I took it once and it did the exact opposite for me. It made me feel lazy and unhappy.

No. Wellbutrin is an anti-depressant as you probably know and most A-d's causes the opposite effect.

Well well... look who it is! Which btw. All of you are WRONG!!!! I started to use it and my libido has gone up! It doesn't work with serotonin. It works with dopamine. This is just an old thread. Let it go. My own question has been answered by own testings on myself. But thanks to everyone.

Right, and neither do the serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Most of the SSRI's have no effect on libido, but have an effect on the ability to orgasm. This is why they are often prescribed for treatment of premature ejaculation. Some men actually became anorgasmic when on SSRI's.

Wellbutrin has been known to increase libido.

Yup, Wellbutrin is actually perscribed along with SSRI's to restore libido in those that suffer from decreased drive from SSRI's. It can also help restore normal ejactulation time in men that suffer from severely delayed ejaculation from SSRI's.

I recently started taking wellbutrin. It really helped me to quit smoking (it is the same ingredients as that other pill to quit smoking that insurance won't cover, says my Dr). Now that you mention it, my sex drive is much higher.

wellbutrin differes from other ssri's, because its main effect is on dopamine i believe. dont quote me on that. People take it to increase their sex drive.

I believe it can jack up ur BP tho so its a no go for me. Im on Lexapro now at 20mg with 50mgs of trazadone before bed and im doing good. No delayed ejaculation like i had with the effexor i was taking.
