Wellbutrin Causes Gyno???!!???

I read in some article as well as from one post on this board that the anti-d WELLBUTRIN can cause gyno....this sounds very strange to me since from what I know , Wellbutrin acts as a dopamine reuptake inhibitor...if anything this would lower prolactin and not cause gyno. Still it intrigues me to find that it supposedly may cause this. I was prescribed this by my doc and well before i take it I wanted to be sure that theres no chance of it causing development of gyno. What do you all think about this...true or false???Do any past wellbutrin users have anything to add to this???

Wellbutrin increases your dopamine levels which means it would have to do something with the pituitary gland. This gland is also responsible for producing milk when a woman is pregnant. I guess it's possible but wether it's true I do not know.

but prolactin is what produces milk when a woman is pregnant...and dopamine inhibits prolactin....and since this drug increases dopamine i seriously cant see how it would cause gyno...if anything...doesnt it actually prevent gyno???

I'm not going to find out because I'm getting off Wellbutrin. It didn't do JACK SHIT for me.

did u notice any sort of gyno symptoms..like itchy nipples and such???Have you ever heard of it causing gyno to anyone??

I took it for about 3 to 4 months. no gyno, no itchy nipples. I suspect the gyno might be caused in larger doses, but that's just a guess.

Seldane the allergy medicine has also been linked to gyno but I think it's rare.

I just quit taking it. I felt horrible on it. If it can cause gyno......does it elevate your estrogen, or surpress testosterone?
