I am an 18 year old, 6'3, 136lbs. I have been working out for 4 years, in the begining i wasnt serious. but lately i have been trying to gain weight because i cant. i have tried to eat very fatning foods just to get some fat on me, but i have a VERY fast metabilism and i loose weight very easily. I have worked out a lot and ate healthy but i got very little results. is there a special diet i can try? i have heard of people using steroids but i dont have any firends that take it so i dont know how well that works but i wanna know if thats an option. I am from Canada and i dont know the laws against it. any help would be awsome :)

You are 18 and still growing and your natural test levels are sky high man, NO steroids are needed for quite a while if at all. I think your goal should be to perfect your diet. Fattenings foods are not the goal, but protein and lots of it, certain types of carbs, etc are what you should be reading up on. What type of workout are you doing? Since you want to gain size are you doing a low rep/high weight type lifting? If you want power and muscle and mass, I can't suggest any other type of workout routine except the 5 X 5. Do a search on it or go to the weightlifting forum and there is a TON of info on that. I feel it would be perfect for someone in your situation.

i usually 2 sets of 10 reps until my muscles fail. i ate lots of carbs and drank protien shakes. i also had some "natural steroid" stuff, i forget what it was called. i have maintained the same weight for the last two years. can u give me some foods i should be eating? maybe types of workouts?

you need to be doing a much different workout, 3 excercises per body part, 3-5 sets per exercise, at the very least. Bump up your calories, tons of protein and complex carbs, 1.5-2.5g of protein per lb of LBM, make the rest carbs with a little fat. You aren't eating enough and you aren't working your muscles enough.

Foods should be for protein: chicken, fish, lean red meat; for carbs: rice, vegetables, oatmeal, maybe some potatoes. FIgure on at least 2g protein/pound of bodyweight. Supplement with your protein shakes. Your training seems like it needs some change too. I advise you do some searches on the web or buy a good book about the subject. It can be done. When I started training seriously at age 16 I was 6 foot and only weighed about 140 pounds. I am now the same height but weigh in at a lean 225 pounds. Do not resort to using steriods until you have progressed to the point where you still dont grow even while training and eating right. You are nowhere near your potential.

thanks so much, i didnt know how much protien i needed for my body until now :D

Yep protein is important and brahma bull gave you a good forumla. I would suggest a good egg white protein as opposed to whey but that is just my opinion.
