Weight Gainer question?????

I was wondering if you guys every used any weight gainer shakes for calories.

with me being in school, its hard for me to get enough calories in

i try to get around 4000/day, cause i'm bulking right now with Omnadren @ 500mg/wk..........i've only been able to get in about 2500-3000 per day cause of my schedule

would it be ok to choke down a weight gainer shake that gives me that extra 1500 cals?
 
sorry guys, probably should have put this in the supplementation board

but i figured this would be a better place because it relates to me being "on" cycle

Bro, you would be better off adding a cheat meal between breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner. Something in a way of double whopper (no mayo) from Burger King. Also try adding a hefty scoop of ANPB and a banana with some mixed berries to your protein shake.

That ought to do the trick.

Weight gainers suck in my opinion as they are full of sugar and shit. But to each his own. I find it better to try a slight bit harder and stuff some food down even if its a bit junky.

NLarge2. Great "weight gainer" if you want to call it that. Cross between a weight gainer and a protein powder. Easy to take down. 4 scoops is 600 calories. At 600 calories it has 52 grams of protein, only 28 grams of sugar, 6 grams of fat. It's all whey too, no soy protein. I use it about three times times a day and it is good stuff.

If any bro's out there know of a cheaper place to buy it at, or a better similar not so sugary "weight gainer" let me know but this is one of the best so far I've seen.
 
You know people on here are going to tell you use solid food because it is better fuck that shit slam you 1, 2, or 3 shakes down if you are busy and do not have time for all those meals. A shake will not hurt you one bit and they are a whole lot easier to consume and at a certain point during your bulking cycle you eventually get tired of slamming all that food down. The shakes work well for me and we all respond differently any way to shakes and solid meals so do what ever works better for you.

I 2nd the use of N-Large - I use it as a PW shake when I am bulking. I usually only go with 2 scoops though - 4 can really be a sugar bomb.

I agree-convenience is a key element to success with any diet-weight loss or weight gain. But if you are going to consume shakes, I'd recommend taking one post workout, and another before bed with a meal of solid food in between to prevent you from getting the runs. Also, buy some Brontosaurus pituitary extract, some King Kong Growth Hormone, and some cocaine. Take a gram each for pre workout energy. Oh yeah-eating pussy helps-and little tongue in the bung won't hurt either. :p

Depends what carbs it has, simple or complex, if its simple dont overdo it, you may end up with reactive hypoglycemia, it happened to me.

Simple carbs specially glucose -dextrose-, often found in weight gainers, trigger a release of insulin, while gives impressive gains, your body gets used to produce large amounts of insulin after each meal.

Your pancreas will produce much more insulin than necesary, producing hypoglycemia.

Besides simple carbs promote bacteria growth in your stomach.
 
I usually try to get those extra calories by eating a few handfuls of almonds during the day.... plus a few tbs of peanut butter before bed with my protein shake.... oatmeal every morning is good, plus throw in a scoop or two of oatmeal with any of your protein shakes during the day... much much better than just taking in a sugar-filled weight gainer.... and though I don't use any, there are some good meal-replacement powders that are not just all sugar...
 
i use this
1 1/2 scoops gnc 2200 gold choco, 1 1/2 scoops whey isolate 1 1/2 scoops untimate nutrition muscle juice choco. Also add a raw egg and blend. I did a 7 weeker and put on 27 pounds, and kept 23

Take this stuff 3 times a day in half the amount so its not going to waste it will help alot...If your a hard gainer you should run something besides test period! Test will cut yea more then bulk yea...Omna you should run every 3 days at 250 shits really slow acting
 
When gaining weight, you want mass, not fat. Those weight gainers are primarily dextrose or malodextrose. Sugars. If you are going to add calories to your body, make them good calories and not just empty sugar filling calories.

2 scoops whey powder (50 grams of protein)
half pack of oatmeal (20 grams of low GI carbs)
2 graham crackers (additional simple carbs)
peanut butter (healthy fats and carbs - in addition to calories)
Substitute flax seed oil or cashews for the peanut butter.

Blend and drink.

Too lazy to look up the nutrient ratio to this. Karma to anyone that does.
