Weight gain in one week

What's the most weight you've put on in a week?

I'm wondering because it seems that i've put on 4 pounds in one week and have only just started a workout/nutrition type routine.

I've been to the gym only 3 times, chest/tri's one day, then bi's/back then legs/shoulders the last day.

I'm eating 4eggs, 16oz milk w/whey protein in the morning.

lunch at 10:30am is a turkey sandwich with 2 slices cheese and approx 3oz meat. a salami snack later and a banana before I go home.

then about dinner time we have low carb dinner cause the wife is on Atkins.

after workouts on those three days i have my milk w/whey protein.

I'm not a big dude, 5'8", was 156lbs, now 160lbs. I've been trying to get to 170lbs for a long time but realized that my biggest problem in the past was bad eating and overtraining.

the other thing to is that i'm going through some Physical Therapy from ACL reconstruction surgery so i lost a lot of muscle on one leg but now i'm getting it back, so do you think it's possible i put on 4lbs on one leg.

I don't know, i was just absolutely amazed when i actually put on some weight cause it's something i've been trying to do for a while. What are your thoughts.suggestions.

My weight can fluctuate 5 lbs. or so from week to week, depending on the sort of diet I'm running. If you've just recently changed your eating patterns/style it's likely water and glycogen weight that you're noticing right now. It would be pretty tough to pack on 4lbs. of muscle in one week.

Yeah, I fluctuate from 237 to 248.......just depends when I weigh myself.

Every TWO weeks, first thing Saturday a.m. upon rising, after taking a morning wee wee, totally naked, before eating or drinking anything, is the the most accurate method to weigh yourself.

if you've just started working out, you could be adding muscle quickly.. maybe not the whole 4 pounds? ... I know when I first started training.. just hitting the weights hard + eating rediculous amounts of food.. the first month I added a lot of muscle w/ negligable fat gain.. this was almost a total contrast coming from my previous ways.. I was an endurance runner.. and only ate about 1000 calories a day.

I still do endurance stuff.. but I just eat more now :p
