I agree. I measure based on moisture/liquid factor. For example , chicken will weigh less after broiling because of the loss of water , fat , etc. Items such as potatoes I weigh before cooking , beacuse I boil them in chicken bouillion , so they will not be so bland , and they will always weigh more after this.
I have never measured green veggies. The amount of calories in them are so low, it is hard to overeat them. Plus, they are my main source of vits and mins while eating clean, it made no sense to limit them. AND, they are full of fiber and make you feel more full.
Meat - always weigh after. Rice, cream of wheat (I don't eat oatmeal) - weigh before. Potatoes, I think I weighed after cooking.
