for a start.
Learn XHTML, CSS, Javascript, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, XML and Dreamweaver if you wanna design. A strong background in graphic design helps.
If you'd like to do a little development as well, PHP and MySQL are fairly easy to learn, and very popular, not to mention being open source too.
Many local Universities and Colleges offer web design/dev programs these days too. Check your local listings.

there are millions in this field. very hard to make money when 13 year old kids who love to do it can make decent websites for free in a matter of hours....you have to have a good 5-10 years in the field before you can start making decent (above 30k) money unless you get lucky
Yeah it was more for person or just a idea.
