We should put tracking devices on our vehicles....

So what if they tell us it is for the collection of tax money. Pretty clear that is horseshit since tax money is collected when we purchase gasoline.

So... all pretexts aside, tracking devices would enhance our lives. So what if Big Brother knows where we are and where we have been. Unless we drive into illegal regions then it makes no difference.

This would be the ultimate technology for the reduction of crime. The ultimate.

Think of not having to lock everyfucking thing down everyfuckingtime you leave for a few minutes. Many of the criminals would be caught or forced to substantially change their lifestyles.

I hate thiefs. Absolutely passionately hate them. Soemone ought to line then and I would pull the trigger to dissolve them all.

Yep.....just discovered that my shop is missing thousands of dollars worth of equipment.

File a police report. Give them a couple suspects. Cops run a check on the whereabouts of those suspects vehicles. Those suspects are entered into a database of having frequented a crime zone. A pattern develops. Suspect is incarcerated after frequenting too many crime zones.

Yes....this is simplified but, in essence, basically how it works.

Go ahead and scream about your freedom. How is th efact that they know where you drive going to reduce your freedoms unless you go into illegal areas?

Traffic would also be much safer. They would have proof on the assholes who regularly go in excess of 20mph over the limit in traffic....the folks who cause so many horrendous accidents.

Roads would be less congested. Air would be cleaner.

Shoot....people may actually jump on a bicycle now and then. :)

Did ya'll know that the Bush family owns the company that basically feeds the Florida criminals? Supposedly it is Barbara and Laura. They took over and quit the program that gave the incarcerated criminal .65 for preparing all of the meals. From what I understand.

Is it any wonder that Bush states that all of the criminals are guilty in spite of what DNA testing may show?

Is this part of the reason that law enforcement and Bush love each other so dearly? Scratching each others back?

The war on drugs, the government has been fighting this war for a long long long time. They aint winning and they never will. Giving harsher sentences will not stop people from comitting crimes.

blah,blah,blah
a consumption tax is what is going to be necessary to fix SS,medicare and all the other tax issues
as you spend you pay
as you save you don't
it doesn't get any simpler

and if you make choices as you live in which you spend all in which you make
fuck you

we already pay 50% or more in taxes so, we don't need another tax.

a couple of things:

criminals are usually the first to get around any technological controls, so really, thinking that those "tracking devices" are always going to be effective is delusional. just like gun control here in australia - licensing is horrendously tough, penalties are shocking...but the people with all the really cool guns without serial numbers are unlicensed criminals. so who won? the criminals did, since theyre the only ones who are armed. recreational shooters suffered, gunstores suffered, crime rates stayed the same...what was the point? same thing will happen

2) you already pay tax at the pump. now, funny thing about cars is, that they use fuel in proportion to the distance that they travel....so really, you already have a system that taxes people according to road use. if anything, tracking peoples movements in order to tax them, rather than the amount of fuel that they use, also has the effect of removing an incentive to have a more efficient car - since a tracking device wont discriminat ebetween an environmentally monstrous humvee and a japanese electric-hydrogen hybrid.

and then finally theres the privacy issue. i dont know about you guys, but im a human being and an individual before im an australian citizen. im not a dispensable piece of property for the state to govern, and i DO NOT submit to having my life regulated. I dont like the idea of people knowing where i am, how often i go there etc etc. why? because i fucken dont, so fuck off. (hows that for airtight justification ;) )

dude the consumption tax entirely replaces the income tax
also good for taxing the steroid dealers making a bundle tax-free
many substances I'm cool with
trafficking in them is necessary
but figure out a way to pay at least some goddamn tax or you're just a leach
how fat of a chance is that?

for those not following the line of my argument
doesn't matter the source of the income, what you will be taxed on is how you spend it
make a bundle black market, pay your dues when you purchase the porsche

yes, same principle as the goods and services tax imposed on australia, new zealand etc

thing is, what do you do about smugglers, or people who purchase their possessions somewhere and then bring it into the country via some loophole eg buy the porsche in mexico, register it in mexico, drive it around the US for a year or two until you can bring it in without tax being applicable

these sorts of taxes also tend to start low and then creep higher and higher.

Could you rephrase that in English?

I got the last part however.
actaully reading again, the sentence lacks a comma in order to be fluid
fuck you

We do have that option. It's called Lo-Jack. Unfortunately not enough people buy it to generate enough revenue to put the tracking devices in every cop-car. Many cars nowadays are using satellite GPS technology.

btw: To make US safer -- car companies should put in that chase stopper technology. If a car tries to flee the police putting everyone in jeopardy -- a cop can come up behind it, zap them with a special laser tool - and the car starts slowing down. Over innocent 500 people a YEAR are killed by police car chases. Technology WAY overdue...

I think 20000/year are killed by speeders.

That chase stopper technology is quite expensive.

With tracking devices, they wouldn't need to chase anybody. They would know precisely where the suspects car is at all times.

Yea....running red lights at high speed will kill a lot of people. I am opposed to police/fire/emt/paramedic running hot for everyfuckingthing. Running hot is running red lights.

How are "they" going to know your speed? How do "they" determine what is an "illegal area" or "crime zone"? Why don't "they" just block sweep and mass arrest anyone in a "crime zone"? You are guilty by reason of location, aren't you? Even if "they" can track people who routinely speed, how does this prevent accidents? By the way, who is in charge of the governmen'ts new department of "they"? You claim that there is nothing to fear in terms of decreased liberties so why would traffic congestion decrease if there is no element to disuade masses of people from driving? If you want less traffic congestion, a trackable vehicle, and less polution then lead the charge and move to Montana and get a lo-jack installed in a new hydrogen powered Volvo.

Almost every single $300,000+ car automatically is sold with gps/satellite/lo-jack systems installed.

So..

If it's good for the rich, why isn't it good for everyone else? I think every car sold should come with it installed, and only removed by the dealer if the new owner requests it. That'll keep all those "civil freedom fighters" happy. It's corporate america protecting it's assets. Insurance companies would love it.

Hah....lo-jack sounds expensive.

I really don't see a need for cops to be able to slow everybody down with a laser. Write them a ticket....that will slow their ass down.
