water intake question

might be kind of stupid but lets say you aim to drink a gallon of water a day....

does the water intake from your protein shakes (if you use water) and from stuff like say....crystal light, which is mostly water, count towards the intake or does the body absorb it differently somehow?
 
it counts as far as hydrating your body.. so in general, i'd say it counts. I don't count it in my daily water intake though, it's just extra.
 
any liquid sans caffeine counts, prot shakes/milk/crystal light/etc.

for every caffeine drink/pill you take, must increase your water intake by 8 oz. at least over and above what you were drinking before
 
the question is where do you draw the line. there is water in chicken... does that count? lol. just drink a gallon of reg water period and i think ur fine.

If you are using ECA and/or creatine I do not think a gallon per day is enough, just my opinion.
 
I drink a lot of water. I've been adding L-Glutamine powder to my whey shakes, so would that make me more thirsty?
