Was I wrong in doing this?

OK, my friend called me and said "can you pick me up from XX and drive me home, please?". I had a bunch of chores at home, but I was in a good mood and said "sure". He gives me some bullshit directions, but I follow them pretty well. So, I drive 5-6 minutes to this spot and he's not there. I think "wierd maybe I drove to the wrong spot". So I drive everywhere in a 1 mile radius of this area looking for him. Takes about 7-8 minutes. Then I say "fuck it" and drive home. by now i'm pissed. The kicker = his cell phone mysteriously turns off during this whole ordeal. Well, I'm 30 seconds away from my house and he calls me FROM HIS PHONE THAT WAS 2 MINUTES AGO OFF and says "hey, can u pick me up at burger king?" which is pretty much not even close to where he told me he was


I yelled at him at the top of my lungs, told him to fuck off and get his own fucking ride, and slammed the phone. I fucking hate this guy.

Was I wrong here?
