You currently use, or are interested in using Google Desktop, or Google Desktop is installed on a computer that belongs to you.
DETAILS:
Google has released version Beta 3 of their popular Desktop Search tool. This version contains a new feature - Share Across Computers - which is used to search the contents of one machine from another. Enabling this feature results in data and files being transferred from your desktop to servers located at Google. Sensitive personal, confidential, and proprietary information may be shared with Google through the use of this feature. (e.g. porn collections, picstures of members you have collected, detailed cycle information, etc.) Google Desktop version Beta 3 with Share Across Computers should not be installed or used.
WHAT YOU MUST DO:
You must ensure that the Share Across Computers option is NOT enabled. Do not upgrade or install Google Desktop Beta 3. If you have already installed this version, please downgrade to a previous version.
