Warcraft III Question

Hello all,
My DirectX Ver 8.1 doesn't have a Direct3D Acceleration thus I can't play WC III.
I have an IBM 390x Laptop with Neomagic Magicmedia256AV.
Does anyone has a solution? Should I install a new Video Driver?
Should i install newer version of DX?

Good luck getting WCIII to run well on your machine. I have a 750mhz with 256Megs of Ram and a 16Meg video card. Not great, but far beyond what Blizzard recommends. I have to turn down all the textures, shadows etc. to get it to run. When there is a lot of action on the screen, it is still VERY jumpy--almost to the point of not being able to play the game. You need at least a 32Meg video card. Don't get a Voodoo card either, everyone has a lot of problems getting WCIII to work with them.

Always update your drivers to the latest version that is out. It works fine for me.

As far as I know DX 8.1 is the latest.

I have heard some stuff about DX 9, but I don't believe it is out yet. At the very least, no games support it.

It runs fine on mine, and mine is a intel Celeron chip and 128mb of ram with a 20GB hard disk and a crappy Intel on board graphics card.

But then my pc only has warcraft III on it, it was purely dug out and built for that. It runs awesome.

I have another PC which i use for everything else, as I found that WC 3 doesnt run well on machines that already has shit on them.

Runs great on its own.
