walnuts as snack

What do you think of eating walnuts as a mid morning or mid afternoon snack? What are some other easy-to-bring-with you snacks besides protein bars that you all eat?
 
Hi Jenny! I have walnuts with me all the time.. They're my fav nuts, Very benefical, rich in compounds that reduce hardening of the arteries and keep them flexible..

They actually add more health benefits than olive oil.. I know I was surprised too.. Great antioxidant, Omega 3 fatty acid also.. If you've had a meal high in saturated fat, have a few almonds.. keeps things flowing!

I always make my food in advance.. turkey and spinach burgers.. Cottage cheese.. pre made chicken breasts.. etc..

Protein bars are good.. Not to have on a daily basis though..

There are loads of recipes in the women's bodybuilding forum too..
 
Walnuts are a great snack, healthy fats but calorie dense so don't overdo it. I often take protein powder in a shaker bottle and an apple with me. I'm not a fan of bars because they are usually glorified candy bars, I'm still trying to ween my girlfriend off them....

^^Yep.. Don't over do it!

Protein bars.. Tell her to have one a week.. I usually do that depending on my schedule.. ;)
