Waiter's/Waitress's I now see your side

I have always known there were asshole customers and after last night I cant believe how people treat servers that are doing a amazing job. I will explain the story now. me and some friends went to dinner since we are all back in town from school . anyways I ordered a Guinness in 34oz, I wasnt suppose to get that but he broke the rules for me and I got it, so this already had him in my good books, but I have some asshole friends who I now know why I dont talk to often who bitched and made comments making him seem incompetent within ear shot and the guy looked heart broken. these comments went on all dinner which was shit.

so now I really do see what servers go through and how much of assholes people can be.

My dad will make any new waiter/waitress damn near cry if they fuck up. At a restaurant or two, he has enough pull to pretty much get someone fired. And if it's a seasoned waiter/waitress that still doesn't know "proper waiting etiquette", i.e. serve the women first, then the children, etc., he'll just rip em a new one right there. Now, if it's a seasoned waiter/waitress, at a classy restaurant that does everything perfectly by the book (whatever book that is), he'll give em a fat phuckin tip. He's wierd about that.

Your a good man! Serving can be a hard job ... it is nice to see some people out there appreciate it.

i'll skip that. it's just having empathy or consideration for other people, some people have it, some people need it knocked into their heads, and others are just assholes.

Usually i'll tip 20% when the service is good (refilling my water when its 1/2 empty, not making me wait more than 2 min to order drinks/appetizers, come back with the drinks in a timely manner).

Now if i get shitty service, they're hanging out , gossiping with other waitstaff, 10%....

Gave this one guy .05 tip in South Beach Ocean Drive during lunch with me and 4 friends. Not even busy .Seated and waited 10 min for the guy to come...takes the order and shoots the shit with a hot waitress for 10 min. Bring back the drinks.. waits 5 min to come back again to take the order. Then finally get our food 20 min later...Starts being nice and ask hows the food.... Bill comes to almost $120. leaves his ass a nickel tip. Walked down Ocean and turned to see his face... PRICELESS Shitty service, nickel tip.

You know my sister and I talk about this often. We both worked in this industry and it really does make you look at it differently.

I see someone reaming out a waitress over a bad meal and I wanna break thier frickin neck. They didn't cook the thing!!


I have had shit meals but have always still tipped the waiter/waitress well if they were great and make a point of saying I don't want the cook getting any of this.

Im the three penny tipper for horrid service,but am quite generous for good service and more so when someone in my party is a asshole to a good server
