Volkswagen

Volkswagon sucks. Nothing but problems. I have owned two of them. Currrently my Jetta is Out of commission....it kept overheating. (and it just got out of the shop for a cylinder that was no longer firing).

I'll never get another vw. I would seriously warn anyone against it.

i have a jetta
no probs to speak of
dont know anyone who doesnt liek thier vw......

but i am now looking an elise or tt...

From what I have heard they are pretty good cars. if you do have problems tho, parts and service are expensive.

yeah, but who the heck are you?
one out of 15 isnt too bad, unlike every ford/chev/dodge owner I know who are always having probs...

Someone who has/ had 2 problematic jettas. That is something. I try not to be negative, just honest...We have had a shitload of problems with vw. And the repair bills...let's not get started..never less than $1000

Pisses me off.

We have two passat 1.8t's at work, my office mate owns a taureg, been in it a few times.

Love them both, no hassle, nicely built, fast, no complaints. I am thinking about a volvo sportwagon or a taureg myself.

What do you guys think about the Phaeton and Touareg? Does anybody own a volkswage vehicle?

Both Models are new, Touareg coming out just before last summer and Phaeton being released to the public this past December. The 12 cylinder Pheaton has had many problems, the dealership I worked for had to buy back 2 and find 2 other new ones for those customers. Same with the Touareg, I sold a brand new V8 Touareg to some doctor, we had it back in like 4 or 5 months, another buy back. Once they get all the kinks out of these new models, they'll be some of the best cars on the road. The Touareg V8 is the nicest and quickest SUV's out, and it handles like a sports car. It's comfortable as hell, take a test drive and you'll fall in love with it. I don't work for VW so I could care less what you do, but take it from me. Any yes, parts and service are very expensive once the car is out of warranty, spend the extra $1500 and get the extended warranty up to 100K miles, it'll be way worth it in the long run...HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

I noticed that people who had a lot of problems with VW's didn't really take car of them, they beat them to death, didn't change the oil, and when there was a problem they'd bring it to the dealership and say the car was a piece of shit...we can always tell who didn't take care of their car, it's obvious!!!

volkswagens are unreliable and break all the time, my mom and sister have audi's and they fuck up like its their job avoid them, look in consumer reports, anything japanese is good

If your Volks is made in Mexico then you're out of luck cause they suck. Now the ones made built in Germany are a different story. Just look at a regular Golf and a Golf Wolfsburg. One will be a pain in the ass after 2-3 years while the other is top notch quality.

The Phaeton is a good attempt at the luxury sedan market. Too expensive for me though and I think i would just go with the A8 instead. THe Touareg is an extremely well done first SUV. It has real off road ability and can tow a good bit of weight due to it's air suspension. If I were to be looking for an SUV the Touareg would be very high on the list. No I don't own a VW but I have and it was a good car. Fun to drive.

Are there any German-made Golfs sold in North America? I thought they ALL came from Mexico for this market. "Wolfsburg Edition" is just an end-of-model-year Special Edition they always come up with, with a few trim and option upgrades, it doesn't mean they were made there.
